Luigi Loir

Landscape and genre painter, born in Goritz Austria, studied at the School of Fine Arts, Parma. He came to Paris and worked in the studio of Pastelot. He began exhibiting at the Salon in 1865. After 1870 he devoted himself almost exclusively to painting views of Paris. He was awarded the Legion d’Honneur in1889. His work is held in museums throughout France, including the Palais des Beaux Arts, Le Musee Carnavelet Paris and also in the Art Galleries at Bordeaux and Rouen.
