Warkton Meadows by

Edwardian landscape, genre and portrait artist. He was born in Lincoln and studied at Lincoln School of Art, where he won many prizes and awards. Later he studied at the School of Art in Antwerp and on his return took up the post of Assistant Art Master at Lincoln School of Art.Later he moved to Kettering, Northamptonshire and became a lecturer at the Technical Colleges at Wellingborough and Kettering, Subsequently he was appointed Art Master at Kettering Grammar School in 1907.He exhibited at the Royal Academy eight times between 1896 and 1928, at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool  and at Nottingham. Between 1926 and 1927 he exhibited at the Paris Salon. His work was highly praised by the artist Sir George Clausen and his friend the  Newlyn artist, Thomas Cooper Gotch.
