Frank Myers Boggs was an American Impressionist artist, who was born in Springfield, Ohio . Boggs was a painter, watercolourist and engraver and spent the greater part of his life living and painting in France. His son Frank Will was also a successful artist. He received his formal training at the Academy of Fine Art in Paris under the tutelage of Jean Leon Gerôme 1824 – 1904. He was a regular exhibitor at the Salon of French Artists between 1879 and 1916 and was awarded a silver medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1899. Boggs also exhibited in the United States, in the main at the National Academy of Design in New York and also at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He lived in Paris and New York but spent the last thirty years of his life in Paris.
